The China Energy Database is a digital version of the China Energy Databook which Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory publishes in cooperation with the People's Republic of China. The Databook is the standard reference in use by the international energy community for statistics regarding China's energy production and consumption. For the first time this important collection of data is being distributed in digital form, and researchers have the ability to query the data sets dynamically.
The primary view of the China Energy Databook data matrix is the Energy Balance. Energy data is presented in physical units, or MTCE (metric tons of coal equivatlent). Data may be edited directly in the Energy Balance.
Data entry into the multidimensional China Energy Databook data matrix is streamlined by using a versatile form which presents a narrow band of data to the user. This single form is used for auditing, editing, and adding new values.
